Lesson 18: THE VALUE OF MEDITATION
For centuries man has embraced the art of meditation, it is a forgotten habit by most of us though the importance and value that we get from taking a few moments of our alone time to quiet our mind is of immense return to our productivity and well-being in general.
Meditation helps to quiet the mind, daily the brain has numerous thoughts , ideas and imaginations passing through our mind, the level of internal mental chatter is so much great that it is impossible for a normal person to stay focused for only 5 minutes without almost 10 thoughts crossing his mind. With the current level of stress and the forgotten art of solitude, we daily experience a fast paced day and environment not scheduling time in the day where we do nothing completely.
Can you remember the last time you just sat and did nothing at all, the last time you were in a queue and you didn’t even touch your phone? With the current growth in technology and connectedness, we have forgotten the art of solitude and our mind keeps on evaluating numerous situation not having the serene, peacefulness that it requires rebooting or grow.

That Is why meditation is essential, through the serene mind experienced during meditation enhance better focus and brain activity on the parts of the brain that are characterized by anxiety and depression are reality reduced. The mind is at rest and concentrates on one thing, through these enhanced focus greater self-awareness learning, and memory is improved. According to researchers, meditators have been found to have a high frequency of brain alpha waves which increase the level of awareness and positivity.
Take time every day in the morning or evening to work out your brain you will be grateful for the small efforts you’ve taken to improve your self- awareness. The bliss you experience from this daily habit is fascinating, the first time I did it it was hard to concentrate but with time it was blissful and you go through the day with more enthusiasm and achieve much productivity.
