Lesson 12. SCHEDULING YOUR PRIORITIES
Daily we do numerous activity that improve our general well being, and it is everyone goal to be productive each day and to accomplish the daily work that is expected. But more often it is the opposite that happen, we find ourselves distracted at times and not knowing what to do after we complete some of the task we wanted to do.
I found out that at the end of the day, a large part of my daily activities consisted of work that made me feel good and stuff that are not top of my list to accomplish, like reading blogs,Facebook, Twitter, Quora and other news which is good but they often make me overlook the most important tasks that I need to priotize at that moment or day.
We often set tasks to accomplish each day but more often we end up not doing all of them and this often lowers our productivity level.
Recently I found a formula that works well, it is famously known as the $25000 idea. Whereby before going into each day take a paper and list down all the stuff you want to do tommorow, sit down and jot them down on this paper ensuring you put all the things you hope to do by the end of the next day. You can do this either the day before tomorrow or very early in the morning before you start your day.
After writing down the things you wish to accomplish tomorrow, take your time and number them in terms of their level of importance, starting with the numeral 1 as that of the highest priority to be accomplished. This in other words is ensuring that you schedule your priotize in terms of the most importance to that which is of least importance.
Set out the next day to follow your schedule to the letter and giving each task the amount of time it deserves. If you cant complete all the tasks that day it means you could not have accomplished them in any other way. This practice helps us to deal with tasks depending on their level of importance not forgetting stuff we need to do and also this increases our productivity ;level helping us to accomplish task more efficiently and within the right time.If by any chance you complete the tasks before time, get another piece of paper and write the next tasks you want to accomplish and follow through the priorities that you’ve scheduled.
I have found this method very easy to be able to have an organized way in doing stuff and being able to achieve the set objectives within a given period of time. Try it out and you will be amazed by the results.
