Lesson 33: Work-Life Balance is a myth

We are always looking for a balance, yet this balance will lead us to average.

Work-life balance is a myth created by those who do not know how to priories what is important.
The popular aphorism which goes as follows;

Imagine your life was a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity. And you are keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls- Family, health, friends, integrity are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered

It is through balance that we become average and as we already know being average is mediocre. We cannot balance both sides of work and family and expect to be the best in our chosen area of expertise.

It is only by knowing our priorities that we can achieve greatness. Knowing what’s important will help us achieve the balance that we need without compromising with the work-life balance myth.
It is only those who dedicate their effort and time make it to the end of the dip, getting the success they are seeking out.

Remember it is only through identifying our priorities that we are able to make the right choices and ensuring that the right balance is maintained both in our work and life.

Our priorities keep on changing depending on the stages we are in, and we need to constantly adjust our priorities.
