LESSON 26: THE STRANGEST SECRET

THE STRANGEST SECRET

This has been one of the most revealing and exceptional ideas that I have come across in a long time.
It has been a phenomenal idea that was by the famous Earl Nightingale, and it has revolutionised my thinking and my perception on success and if you can get hold of this 12 page book and internalize the teaching, it would be a phenomenal idea that will shape your thinking to the right direction.

The way we think about success is very different for each one of us, however the strangest secret captures all this differences in one statement.

So what does this say?
There was this survey that was done in the 60s, whereby a group of 10 young guys in their mid twenties were asked what they want to do in their future and what was their expectation  in life. From the survey all the young people who were queried had ambitions and were aiming to be a success in life, they hand the burning desire to be the best and have a successful life.

After about  30 years when the same group of young people were again surveyed at the age of 65 years old the result obtained was as follows.

From the group of 10 young guys interviewed only one was financially independent, 2 were still working and the rest were in a pitfall of debt and financial crisis.

The big question now is what happend to the ambitious young people who had the burning desire to be a success at their youthful age, according to this research  it was one underlying factor which is that "we simply don't think", the current IBM  slogan "Think"  was as a result of the CEO who said that "Men could do great things if they only were to think"

we often think that we think at all times, but we are not in control of our thoughts and as we already know it, our thoughts control our actions and when thoughts are combined with emotions can have significant shift in our attitude which also influences our action steps.
we are at all times operating on a default mode, we let our brain make the choices for us  and this is a dangerous mode to be in.

Apart from we not using our minds to think another fundamental discovery was made, the true meaning of success and the right definition, which is success is the progressive realization of  a worthy ideal.

"The strangest secret is that we become what we think about"

In other words what this means that success is the progressive realization of worthy goals, for the people who make it, it is because they have goals that they are actively pursuing, a goal that excites you each time you think of it, a goal that that shifts your expectation to another level.

As a summary of this exciting book and recording from Earl Nightangle, the main points driven from this is that we need to have are gaols that we become emotionally attached with it, we need to have goals that excites us which we can pursue daily, there is a 30 day test that Earl suggests which is also a way to get you to think of your goal daily and to be actively engaged with the goal that you set.

In a nutshell, this has been one of the best recording i have ever heard you need to find and listen or read "The strangest secret"
